To All Nigerians In The Diaspora,

 

Muhammadu Buhari's Campaign Needs Our Help

 

Fellow Nigerians,

Over the course of the last 8 years we have all witnessed the steady decline and decay of our great Nigerian nation under the rudderless leadership of General Olusegun Obasanjo. Indeed, many of us have thrown up our hands in helplessness, frustration and disgust.

Fortunately, despite Obasanjo's greatest attempts to stifle it, some semblance of democracy still exists in our glorious country, and indeed presidential elections are due to be held sometime in April, 2007.

Most, if not all political parties are putting Presidential candidates on the ballot. Despite there being a somewhat crowded field, one candidate for President stands out above all the rest, that man is Muhammadu Buhari of the ANPP (All Nigeria People's Party).

Muhammadu Buhari is a rare player in Nigeria's polity for the simple fact that not only is he a man of vision with a mission, who puts the interest of the nation above that of self, but he also has the experience, honesty and an abundance of integrity. All these being the qualities we need in the person who is going to take us out of our collective misery.

In the coming weeks and months, Muhammadu Buhari's campaign is bound to kick into high gear. However, if our experience in 2003 is anything to go by, two vital components have to be present in this electoral cycle for us to contribute meaningfully to a Buhari victory:

1)       1) Significant financial Support for the campaign back home.

2)       2) High level of grassroots mobilization in the Diaspora.

To accomplish the aforementioned objectives, the Friends of Muhammadu Buhari Organization (FoMBO) has been formed. It shall serve as the unofficial grassroots HQ for the dissemination of the Buhari message in the Diaspora; it shall also serve as the main fundraising conduit for the campaign outside the shores of Nigeria.

To this end, the www.Buhari.org website has been set up. It serves as the main mobilization point for all things campaign related. Please visit it and get involved.

Friends, Nigerians, Fellow Citizens, the weeks and months leading to the election are destined to be rough and tough, but if we all lock arms, united and committed to ensuring a Muhammadu Buhari victory,
