About Us
AFRICANANEWS.COM is an arm of Empowered Communication Network Inc and
Landmark Communications Services. The website is a central point for up to the minute
news, analysis and investigative reports about Nigeria and Africa. It is also
the home of a forthcoming weekly newspaper, AFRICAN INTEREST, and a periodical
newsmagazine DISTINCTION NEWS MAGAZINE.
OUR goal is to provide a central forum where African and Africa writers and
journalists can collaborate in reporting about the African continent accurately
and in a way that does not prejudice the daily struggles nor discount the feats
and accomplishments of Nigerians and Africans whether they be in the continent
or in the Diaspora.
THIS PROJECT IS ABOUT: African leading reporters, presenting news about Africa
in the best ideals and standards of journalism comparable to those anywhere in
the news business.
THE TEAM: At the head of AFRICANANEWS.COM are three professionals based in the
United States, and who are committed to putting out the best effort for the
realization of a forum on the Internet that meets all the yearnings and
aspiration of Africans in terms of news and media needs.
Together AFRICANANEWS.COM has a journalism and management team whose total
experience reporting spans over 30 years from Africa to the United States.
The team is made up of Laolu Akande, Seyi Oduyela and Dayo Amon. While Akande
and Oduyela are tested reporters, Amon, an enterprising manager will run the
business side of the website.
